Gentle Honeybees for Our Local Apiaries

We purchase Italian honeybees from selected west-coast breeders. We believe they are the best choice for Southern California bee yards. Bees raised by our breeders are not prone to stinging, as they evolved that way over millions of years. When the beekeeper opens the hive to inspect it, our bees remain on the combs and behave in a docile manner. They do not follow or pursue people.

Here in Los Angeles, when keeping bees in backyards and near lots of people, we use honeybees of known genetics. Wild, or feral honeybees can have fierce temperaments. At The Hive Tribe we believe in keeping bees that are gentle.
